Ironing

You’ve got an iron, have you ever lit it? Well heres your chance, light that iron and iron a shirt with it. For this contest you’ll need an iron (duh), one white or off-white long sleeve men’s shirt. Our expert rumplers will rumple your shirt and you can show off your ironing skills to put it back to straight again. You will be given 2 minutes to light your iron and get it hot, then the real fun begins, the timer starts and you iron the shirt, don’t forget the cuffs and collar!

Contest starts at 1pm, some ironing boards will be available but for best results bring your own!

200A field strip

Sure you can take a lantern apart but can you put it back together again? Can you do it fast with people cheering? Participants will supply a 200A lantern, keep the glass at home we don’t want any breakage. You’ll pass it to the contestant next to you and disassemble THEIR lantern. This prevents any chance that parts will have “accidentally” been left loose on yours. The cleaning knob stays in place but everything else comes apart, the bail, vent, burner frame, generator, burner, u-tube, valve, and fuel air tube. Lay them all out on a towel or piece of cardboard in front of you. When a judge clears you after your disassembly you put it all back together again. Bring whatever tools you need to make this happen, I predict the hardest part will be removing the valve from the fount, for this a helper is allowed but only to hold the fount.

Contest starts at 2:30pm have your tools ready!

Cooking

Can you make a mean 1 pot meal? Show off your skills and make your best one pot meal, you’ll need a stove, a pot and something to put in it. Make enough to share!

Starting at 12pm you’ll have 4 hours to prepare your masterpiece, tastings are at 4pm, don’t be late!
